Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. What QDRO Works is — and is not

QDRO Works is a document-preparation service. We prepare retirement-division orders (QDROs and equivalent orders) based on information you provide and the terms of your existing decree, judgment, or agreement.

We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, we do not exercise legal judgment on your behalf, and using this service does not create an attorney-client relationship. We cannot tell you what division is fair, whether to accept a settlement, or how the law applies to your situation — for those questions, consult a licensed attorney in your state.

2. The service

For the posted flat fee per plan, we prepare the order drafted to the plan's requirements, step-by-step filing instructions, and the standard cover letters (pre-approval, court, and qualification). If the plan administrator or the court requires changes, we revise the order at no additional charge until it is accepted by both ("free revisions until accepted"). Revisions requested because you provided materially different terms are a new order.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us; for reviewing the draft before filing; for filing the order and completing the plan's process (with our instructions); and for any court filing fees or fees the plan itself charges. If both parties or a court must approve the order, obtaining those signatures is your responsibility.

4. Payment & refunds

Payment is due before drafting begins. If you cancel before we deliver a draft, we will refund your payment in full. After a draft is delivered, fees are non-refundable, but our free-revisions promise continues until the order is accepted. Price-match requests must be submitted before payment with a link to the competing advertised price for a comparable plan-specific service.

5. Timing

We normally deliver drafts within 1–3 business days of receiving complete information. Plan and court review timelines are outside our control and commonly take 30–60 days each. Nothing in the service guarantees a particular outcome, timeline, or acceptance by any specific date.

6. Sensitive information

Do not send Social Security numbers or dates of birth through the intake form, email, or chat. We collect those only through the separate secure channel described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the order at issue. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including investment gains or losses on the account while an order is pending, actions of the plan, the court, or the other party, or consequences of inaccurate information provided to us.

8. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless we agree otherwise in writing. [Attorney to confirm venue/arbitration preference.]

9. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version, and changes apply prospectively. Questions: info@qdroworks.com.
